Activity | LuhConf23 | Field trip to the Island of Korčula

Observing in practice

Enjoy wednesday afternoon with a guided tour to the Dalmatian Island of Korčula, north of Dubrovnik.
Participants gain a unique insight into the Dalmatian culture, history, landscape and regional cuisine.

Roman’s once named it Corcyra Nigra – the black Corfu, named so after the dark pine forests and the home island of the ancient Greek settlers..

You probably didn’t know, that the island was once a greek colony (from 6th century BCE) and, according to greek mythlogy, was founded by the Trojan prince Aeneas. And – albeit contested – the Island of Korčula claims to be the birthplace of Marco Polo.

Experience the abundance of ancient settlements, cultural artefacts, restaurants, beaches and get on the trails for those filled with wanderlust. Read more about the Island of Korčula online.
