Accomodation

There is abundance of hotels in the IUC’s vicinity, including Hotel Imperial. Remember to inform the hotels that you are a participant in an IUC-conference since this will might warrant price reductions. Another option is a room (or “sobe”) in private pensions such as the Sesame Inn just vis-a-vis the IUC, which are affordable and virtually omnipresent. The IUC also provides affordable accommodation within its premises (www.dormitory.hr).

Weather

The weather is normally sunny and the temperatures between 20 and 30 C in both May and September, though rain is not impossible in either season.

Travel guidance

The Dubrovnik Airport (Cilipi Airport) is located about 20 kilometres south of Dubrovnik and accessible by both bus and taxi. Travel by car and ferryboat to Dubrovnik is somewhat more complicated, though beautiful.

Taxi

The conference has a preferential agreement with our trusted transportation provider “Kresimir II” Prtoljan from Best Way, a regional provider of taxi and tourist services in Dubrovnik and surroundings, including transport to and from the airport. Kresimir II is the provider of organization and transportation on the conference field trip, and has been so since 2020.

Venue location

The Inter-University Centre (IUC) is situated about 300 meters from the famous medieval city of Dubrovnik.

The IUC hosts courses, seminars and conferences throughout the academic year. • It excels in its function as an independent centre for advanced study, grounded in and sustained by its international network of partner universities.
