Welcome to the Luhmann Conference 2024 Early Career Programme, which will take place on 09 September 2024, just one day before the conference. If you arrive earlier, you are more than welcome to join us for a casual get-together dinner on 08 September 2024.
Our Early Career Programme is designed specifically for graduate students, postdocs, and early-career professionals who are eager to network and advance their academic project. As a participant, you will
- Have access to workshops and reflect on their professional project using systemic tools,
- Recreational activities, such as enjoying a kayak tour to beautiful Lokrum Island,
- Meet members of the Luhmann Conference Committees, and
- Exchange and connect with other early career scholars interested in social systems theory.
Preliminary Early Career Program information
– Workshops organized by professors Steffen Roth (Excelia Business School La Rochelle) and Steven Watson (University of Cambridge).
– Please come already to Sunday evening’s Get-Together Dinner, and stay at least until Friday early afternoon’s Early Career Program wrap-up session.
– Meet other Early Career Scholars in the conference, and join optional Early Career Program activities such as lunch, dinner, and sightseeing.

Workshops
Organised by senior experts in social systems theory, two reflection workshops will provide you with an opportunity to reflect upon your current project and equip yourself with valuable skills for your personal journey. These interactive workshops are intended for all early career scholars and scientists who are interested in building and sustaining an academic career involving social systems theory, systemic tools, exploring new practical exercises, and exchanging with peers.

Otto Rosendahl, M. Sc., works as a doctoral researcher at the University of Turku School of Economics. Having a background in economics and business administration, Otto is conducting basic research in marketing leading towards a meta-theoretical PhD thesis that enhances the service dominant logic (SDL) theory of value co-creation with social systems theories of society and multifunctional markets.
